SUMMARY OF CURRENT PROFESSIONAL DUTIES

Dr. Shane is the Director of Research and Senior Research Scientist at McCrone Research Institute. A renowned teaching and research institute. He currently teaches courses on the identification of fungal spores and fungal cultures, the identification of house dust, the identification of pollen and vegetable fibers and botanical traces, as well as conducting research on indoor air quality, airborne particulates, and aero biology.

Dr. Shane has over 20 years experience identifying fungal spores pollen grains and house dust particulates and has taught hundreds of people how to identify them. He regularly instructs laboratory personnel from around the country proper sampling techniques and how to interpret their sampling results, as well as properly use the indoor air quality worker's most important analytical tool, the microscope.

Dr. Shane has a background in the heating and plumbing construction business and belongs to several professional societies relevant to indoor air quality, including Mycological Society of America, Pan-American Aero biology Association, International Commission for Palynology, American Industrial Hygiene Association, and American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists.

Dr. Shane is a frequent speaker and invited guest around the country to teach and speak on identifying mold and house dust in indoor and outdoor environments and has conducted hundreds of indoor air investigations. Dr. Shane has also served as an expert witness in difficult mold cases involving millions of dollars.
